Earlier this week, a “Marketing Update” subscriber sent me a link to a new “Web 2.0″ type of site. I looked at with little interest, until it suddenly dawned on me what a brilliant concept it is. Let me try to explain.. although I’ve put a lot more info on my profile page:

The site, “Qassia.com”, aims to be a huge collection of varied information, all contributed by its members. This information, called “intel” by Qassia, can be about anything you like.

And you can put a link at the end of the “intel” to any website you like - great for getting back-links and improving the ranking of your websites in the search engines.

However, before your “intel” is made live, it has to be screened and rated by 7 other Qassia members, so there’s an incentive to provide good-quality content.

There’s also an incentive for members to join in this screening because, each time you screen a member’s “intel”, you get points - called Qassia dollars (Q$) by the system (they have no monetary value). You also get Q$ for:

Submitting “intel” yourself (once it has been screened and accepted)

Referring new members to Qassia

And the more Q$ you have, the higher your websites and intel pages will rank. Oh yes, I forgot to mention that there’s an area where you can place any number of websites you like - and they, too, are useful backlinks to your websites! You can get more info here:

One final twist.. when Qassia comes out of beta (possibly at the end of January), AdSense ads will be shown on your intel pages. Only the revenue won’t go to Qassia. It will go directly into your AdSense account!

Right now, it’s an excellent time to jump on board the Qassia bandwagon before too many other people learn about it. You’ll more easily be able to refer new members (they can only join through your member’s referral link), and so rapidly build up your Qassia “dollars” for when the public launch starts.
