A New Type Of Marketing Tool
Not many people will have seen this tool in action - yet. But I’m confident that we’ll be hearing a lot about it over the next few months. Think about this..
How many people leave your web pages without taking the action you’d like them to take - buying something, signing up for your newsletter, whatever.
A huge percentage of people only stay on a web page for less than ten seconds. Not much time to get your message over to them, is it?
But what if your web page could anticipate when they are about to leave your page?
What if, as they start to move their mouse towards the “back button”, the “close page button”, or start to think about typing in a new page address in the “address box” of their browser..
What if.. you could put a very obvious message in front of them before they take any of these actions which would take them off your page? The message might make them a special off’er, ask them to go to another page, remind them of what they are missing if they leave your page - whatever you need to do to avoid losing them.
Well, the technology is here! Over the past few weeks I’ve been beta-testing one such tool, and it’s pretty impressive. And the message seen by the visitor before departing is unmissable! I’ll be giving you further details of this when it’s released.
But, earlier this week I came across a competitive tool, “Exit Grabber“, which is available now, is dead easy to use, and it’s very affordable. It took me all of five seconds to decide to shell out a tidy sum for the Resale Rights.
And that means I’m able to let you have this tool right now - and at a price less than the software developer is selling it for! (I’m doing this quite legally).
It’s difficult to visualise if you haven’t seen one of these gizmos before. So see this tool in action right here:
Just think what it could do for your website! Right now this technique is so effective because it’s new, because few people have encountered it before.
I reckon you’ve got a few months before the world and his dog get as accustomed to these devices as they have done with popups, exit popups, unblockable popups, slide-in popups and the like.
Make the most of those few months!
Oh, and I made a 2-minute video about “Exit Grabber” to try out Techsmith’s new free screen grab software:
