Do You Need To Create PDFs?
PDF (”Portable Document Format”) files are everywhere! They have the advantages that they can’t be contaminated by viruses and there are versions of Adobe’s free Acrobat Reader for almost every type of computer operating system. A PDF creator software tool is essential in many aspects of internet marketing.
For example, what about all those Private Label Rights eBooks, which come with the document in an editable format, such as MS Word?
After messing around with one of the gifts in the Download Library today, I started to look around at what PDF tools there are available today.
At one time, the only way that you could create a PDF file was by using Adobe’s very expensive “Acrobat” software. Things are different today, and over the past couple of years, I’ve looked at dozens of ways to turn documents into PDFs. To be honest, most of them are pretty basic and fall short of providing the facilities available in Acrobat.
The only two PDF creators which come close to Acrobat are:
1. The free “Open Office” suite of software, which aims to mimic Microsoft’s “Office”
2. Microsoft’s “Office 2007″ - which is what I’m currently using. The previous versions of MS Office produced inferior PDFs
So, in what ways do so many of the PDF creators fall down? The most common shortcoming is the inability to create clickable links from anything except a visible full URL, starting with the “http:” bit. Then most of them can’t produce “secure” documents (ones where you can’t copy-and-paste text). There are also some issues with embedded fonts, with being able to display images correctly, and so on.
I Think I’ve Found One Of The Best Alternatives
A couple of days ago, I found a stand-alone PDF creator which seems to overcome all these deficiencies. It has the very unusual title of.. “PDF Creator”!

I downloaded the 2-day trial version and put it through its paces. It installs itself as a printer on your Windows system (no Mac version is currently available). This means that it can convert any document type which you can print out. Simply select the Print option from the software which your document is using, and select “PDF Creator” as your “printer”.
You get a number of configuration options to choose from, but the default is often all you need.
Dead simple. And very affordable
So, if you are looking for a way to produce PDF files, I suggest that you give “PDF Creator” a trial. Here’s where to get the details:
