Latent Semantic Indexing Explained
“And it better had be”, I can hear you mutter!
This ties in with the article: “For SEO Perfectionists”. I, too, have had some difficulties understanding the concepts behind the new approach which Google has been adopting towards ranking websites in the Search Engine Results Pages (”SERPS”).
Fortunately, Jeff Alderson, whom I mentioned above, has produced an excellent article on the subject, and I was happy to invite him to be my guest writer of the week. Here’s an excerpt from his article - and it’s an important fact to grasp:
“Incoming links will always have relevance, especially in regard to breaking search “ties,” but they may not carry the same weight as before. This can make it a bit easier for those who work on their sites with an emphasis on quality to see real results.”
Now I’ve spent a lot of time getting reciprocal links to my various sites, and I’ve had some success. But it’s been hard work. Now I realise that I don’t need to put so much emphasis on this task.
You can read the rest of Jeff’s illuminating article here:

And no, it’s not full of plugs for his new SiloMatic software - just a few discreet mentions
Incidentally, I was amused when I first put this page up that Google AdSense was displaying a.ds for tents and camping equipment (as in laTENT!) It’s sorted out now.
